it’s been a while friends.
Laura and I found this treasure while picnicking in Lafayette Park. After some coca cola and scraping, the history of this little key presented itself. A ridiculously old P&F Corbin key - we’re guessing circa 1900 when the company existed. AMAZING. We have some exciting ideas for what to do with it…

Say Thank You.

Probably one of the best new year’s resolutions and ongoing habits one could have. Now is a great time to say thank you for all the goodies you got over the holidays. No pack of thank you cards handy? Make your own.

Thank you Paper Source for always having the best paper to create something cool.

Since my move to San Francisco, I’ve been living out of a suite case. Some of my major projects have had to be put on hold, but I did get a chance to start one project in Phoenix and be able to complete it in San Francisco. Brad’s guitar neck, as I mentioned in a previous post, is a simple thank you for being my show-going partner while living in Phoenix.

The pictures above explore how a wrecked acoustic guitar was transformed into a great showcase of concert memories. Although I no longer have the work space I had in Phoenix, a little imagination and FedEx Office went a long way.

One Rescued Guitar (Neck) - One Memorable Gift.
A gift for my show-going pal Brad. Remember how we recently found a partially destroyed, partially soaked acoustic guitar in the middle of Phoenix after a Youth Lagoon show at the Crescent Ballroom? Well, this is a tribute to the guy who got me back into show-going over the last few years. We saw everything from Pretty Lights, to El Ten Eleven. Interpol, St. Vincent, Cut Copy, and more.
After moving to San Francisco, I wanted to thank him for teaching me so much about good music, and hope to continue going to great shows in my new city.
More to come on how I captured our memories while avoiding ultra-cornball status…

Happy Holidays and some Happy Girl Kitchen

Finishing up my holiday shopping over the last few days allowed me to explore more of what SF is all about - true craft - of all types. I ventured over to the Ferry Building the other night and amongst some of the finest looking cheeses, chocolates, and other confections, Happy Girl Kitchen caught my eye. Their locally grown and organic goods range from spicy carrots to jams to pickled-pretty-much-everything…all packed ever so conveniently into classic masons. Check them out - http://happygirlkitchen.com

Happy holidays and may craft come your way this season.

Living out of a suitcase (and a jar)

Two weeks already in San Francisco. Landor, Laura, Muni, and Market have been my life - and it’s been pretty cool thus far. The delay in posts have been my fault - it has just been crazy starting a new job (and basically a new life), but the creativity hasn’t been absent - this city is the epicenter for inspiration and I can’t wait to really settle in and get some time to craft.

Until then, I travelled light with one jar full of the essentials: pen, glue stick, and some stamps. More to come…

Marben Toronto

We made it to Toronto after a cozy ride on VIA Canada through the country along Lake Ontario. Rain, and a short walk from the train station and we arrived at our slick city “pod.” From our walk we encountered Marben - a hip resto-pub covered in mason jar lanterns. The jars and the dark and cozy ambiance drew us in for a few drinks.

Fuchsia Montreal

The jars keep following - a few blocks from our flat in Plateau Mont Royal, we stumbled upon Fuchsia - tea, light fair, gifts, etc. The sounds of Louis Armstrong are mixed with French pop as we enjoy our hot tea. It’s cold out, so Fuschia is the perfect hideout for a day like today.

So clever. http://flowergrocery.com/
